Lenovo ThinkPad P15v – Powerful Professional Workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad P15v is a high-performance mobile workstation designed for professionals who demand speed, reliability, and expandability. Powered by an Intel Core i7-11800H 8-core processor and 32GB of RAM, this machine handles intensive workloads with ease, delivering fast boot times of around 20 seconds and excellent multitasking performance.

Equipped with NVIDIA T600 4GB GDDR6 graphics, the P15v is well suited for CAD, design, engineering, and data-heavy applications. The 15.6" IPS Full HD display (1920 × 1080) provides sharp visuals and comfortable viewing for long working sessions.

With a fast 512GB M.2 SSD and a spare drive slot for future upgrades, this workstation offers both speed and flexibility. Security and usability are enhanced with a UK layout backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, smart card reader, and IR webcam for Windows Hello.

Cores and Threads Explained

• Cores: These are the physical components within the CPU that perform actual processing tasks. Having more cores generally means better performance and the ability to handle more tasks simultaneously.
• Threads: Threads are the smallest sequence of programmed instructions that can be managed independently by a scheduler. With technologies like Hyper-Threading (by Intel) or Simultaneous Multi-Threading (by AMD), each physical core can handle two threads, effectively doubling the number of tasks the CPU can manage at once.

Why It Matters

• Performance: More cores and threads improve multitasking and performance, especially for tasks like video editing, gaming, or running multiple applications simultaneously.

Condition

As shown in the videos and pictures, this laptop is in Excellent Used Condition. It is fully functional, with only minor cosmetic imperfections typical of light use:

• Lid and Bottom Case: A few scuffs and scratch marks.

These imperfections are purely cosmetic and do not affect the laptop’s performance. Please refer to the pictures and video for a detailed view of its condition.

Preparation, Diagnostic & Cleaning

The internal fan have been removed & hoovered then sprayed with compressed air and new thermal paste applied to both the CPU & GPU heat sinks to ensure of a cool quiet running experience as you can see from the good processor temperature reading via the Core Temp App as shown in the product picture . The motherboard is checked for any signs of liquid spills hoovered and sprayed with compressed air to remove any dust or debris. The keyboard has been fully tested hoovered and cleaned with a sanitizer solution using a toothbrush to remove any dirt and grime! All exteriors of the laptop are then cleaned with a sanitizer solution using a microfiber cloth. The screen is cleaned using a non-smear solution and a specialized LCD screen cleaning cloth. All ports are checked and tested as working.

The SSD's have been checked using the Crystal Disk application and as you can see in the product picture, they report Good health and a good temperature. The laptop then has a full diagnostic scan to ensure there are no failings or issues, as you will see in the  video it passed without any issues. It is then left to run for at least 24 hours without been allowed to sleep or hibernate to ensure no issues develop.

Battery

This model has one internal 68Wh battery, Windows has indicated 6:09 after a full charge the laptop has then been left to run on the battery without been allowed to sleep or hibernate or turn the screen off for 1:30 hours after which Windows indicated 5:53 remaining @ 77% capacity. The Battery Info View tool is also used to obtain the readings of the battery health which is 89.4% as shown in the last product picture & video . This will vary depending on usage and settings and is an indication only I offer no guarantees on the battery as it is a used consumable item.

All Windows, System & Bios Updates are applied at the time of listing so it’s ready to go!

As you will see the laptop has a tamper evident security seal on the rear of the laptop if this is removed or damaged this may invalidate the warranty and return process
