Description

Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 – Ultimate Workstation Powerhouse

The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 is a powerful, high-performance mobile workstation designed for professionals who need serious computing power without carrying around a bulky desktop replacement.

Combining an 8-core Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB of RAM, fast 1TB M.2 SSD storage and dedicated NVIDIA graphics, this machine is ideally suited to demanding workloads, engineering applications, CAD, 3D modelling, Photoshop, video editing and professional multitasking.

The impressive 16-inch WQXGA display delivers a crisp 2560 × 1600 resolution with 400 nits of brightness, giving you excellent screen clarity, additional workspace and plenty of detail for professional applications.

Unrestricted Access: The BIOS is free from password restrictions, ensuring you have full control over your machine.

Cores and Threads Explained

• Cores: These are the physical components within the CPU that perform actual processing tasks. Having more cores generally means better performance and the ability to handle more tasks simultaneously.
• Threads: Threads are the smallest sequence of programmed instructions that can be managed independently by a scheduler. With technologies like Hyper-Threading (by Intel) or Simultaneous Multi-Threading each physical core can handle two threads, effectively doubling the number of tasks the CPU can manage at once.

Why It Matters

• Performance: More cores and threads improve multitasking and performance, especially for tasks like video editing, gaming, or running multiple applications simultaneously.
• Efficiency: It allows the CPU to distribute tasks more efficiently, reducing bottlenecks and improving overall system responsiveness.

Think of it like having 8 chefs (cores) in a kitchen, each capable of handling two dishes (threads) at the same time. So, your kitchen can work on 16 dishes simultaneously, improving the efficiency of your culinary operation!

Condition

As you can see from the video and pictures the laptop is in Excellent Refurbished Condition I have only noticed the following minor cosmetic imperfections and signs of use

• Minor scuffs / scratches to the lid
• Minor scuffs / scratches to the bottom case and a faint sticker mark

These minor imperfections are cosmetic only and do not affect the laptop’s functionality. Please refer to the pictures and video for a detailed look at its condition.

Preparation, Diagnostic & Cleaning

The internal fans have been cleaned & hoovered then sprayed with compressed air to ensure of a cool quiet running experience as you can see from the good processor temperature reading via the Core Temp App as shown in the product picture . The motherboard is checked for any signs of liquid spills hoovered and sprayed with compressed air to remove any dust or debris. The keyboard has been fully tested hoovered and cleaned with a sanitizer solution using a toothbrush to remove any dirt and grime! All exteriors of the laptop are then cleaned with a sanitizer solution using a microfiber cloth. The screen is cleaned using a non-smear solution and a specialized LCD screen cleaning cloth. All ports are checked and tested as working.

The SSD has been checked using the Crystal Disk application and as you can see in the product picture, it reports Good health and a good temperature. The laptop then has a full diagnostic scan to ensure there are no failings or issues, as you will see in the  video it passed without any issues. It is then left to run for at least 24 hours without been allowed to sleep or hibernate to ensure no issues develop.

Battery

This model has one internal 90Wh battery, Windows has indicated 5:21 after a full charge the laptop has then been left to run on the battery without been allowed to sleep or hibernate or turn the screen off for 1:30 hours after which Windows indicated 4:09 remaining @ 71% capacity. The Battery Info View tool is also used to obtain the readings of the battery health which is 69.6% (may vary) as shown in the last product picture & video . This will vary depending on usage and settings and is an indication only I offer no guarantees on the battery as it is a used consumable item.

All Windows, System & Bios Updates are applied at the time of listing so it’s ready to go!

As you will see the laptop has a tamper evident security seal on the rear of the laptop if this is removed or damaged this may invalidate the warranty and return process
